Booking Manager

Position Description

As Lorelei Ensemble approaches its 20th anniversary, the Booking Manager will play a key role in sustaining and expanding Lorelei’s connection with national and international audiences. The Booking Manager will develop and maintain relationships with a wide network of presenters and communities committed to contemporary music and art while monitoring progress toward Lorelei’s annual booking goals. This role reports to the Executive Director and works closely with the Artistic Director. 

Key Responsibilities

Booking (80%)

  • Develop and leverage relationships with artists, presenters, and collaborators to secure domestic and international performance opportunities for all artistic projects in alignment with the ensemble’s booking goals and strategy

  • Identify and research potential presenter partnerships outside Lorelei’s existing network

  • Maintain accurate internal records of ongoing communications and proactively prompt next steps

  • Create written materials and draft website edits to support booking communications as needed

  • Support negotiations on all presenter contracts in collaboration with the ED and AD 

  • Ensure consistent and timely communications with all external contacts

Production (15%)

  • Manage Lorelei’s library of technical and hospitality riders and rider-related communications with presenters

  • Oversee the relationship between presenter technical teams and Lorelei’s technicians

Administrative Support (5%)

  • Provide mentorship and oversight on specific projects related to production and artistic management for two interns

  • Attend 1-2 administrative team meetings on a weekly basis

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 

  • Knowledge or curiosity of the contemporary music ecosystem including presenters, institutions, history, and artists. Existing relationships within the new music and presenting world are a plus.

  • Exceptional time management and ability to balance competing time-sensitive priorities with long-term goals

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Self-motivation and ability to work independently

  • Willingness to delegate tasks and manage up

  • Familiarity with Google Suite preferred 

Compensation

The Booking Manager is a fully remote, part-time, contract-based position with a monthly rate of $1,000. The contract will be deliverable-based, rather than hours-based, but we anticipate an average of 8-10 hours per week of work.

This position is renewable on an annual basis, with the contract term aligning with Lorelei Ensemble’s fiscal year (July 1-June 30).  As a contracted position, BM has flexibility of scheduling and work hours, with the expectation that they establish consistent and timely communication with external and internal colleagues.
