The elevation and amplification of women’s voices must reach beyond what Lorelei alone can do through commissioning, performance, and recording. This work must extend to the future – to the singers, composers, and conductors who are beginning to develop their own creative voices and who will become musical changemakers well beyond Lorelei’s time.
“There are many ways of disseminating the work that we do: recording, performing, commissioning, and publishing scores. But the most important dissemination is instilling Lorelei's values in young artists so that they can continue this work well beyond our time. The number of young women I've had tell me their time with Lorelei was transformative and gave them a new perspective on what was possible gives me hope that what we are doing is truly changing the way young people think and sing and compose and collaborate.”
-Beth Willer, Artistic Director
"These sessions will reverberate for years in the minds and souls of our students.”
-Timothy Slater, University of Iowa

Educational Partnership: Longy School of Music Vox Exchange
Since 2025, Lorelei has been proud to partner with the Longy School of Music’s treble ensemble, Vox Exchange. Six Longy graduate students in vocal performance spend the spring semester in rehearsal with Corrine Byrne—Longy faculty and Lorelei member—developing advanced ensemble skills, vocal artistry, and interpretive depth. Following preparatory virtual meetings with Beth Willer, students are joined by two additional Lorelei members during a rehearsal intensive culminating with a public performance side-by-side with the Lorelei artists, under Beth’s direction.
“The immersive nature of the experience results in students stepping up and proving to themselves they can execute very difficult music effectively, growing their musical confidence.”
-Corrine Byrne, Lorelei Artist and Longy faculty
“As an aspiring choral musician with a love of contemporary music, the singers in Lorelei are all doing the exact kind of work that I dream of doing one day. [This experience] showed me that there are spaces in the professional choral scene where humor, lightheartedness and emotional vulnerability can exist alongside laser focus and technical brilliance.”
-Charlotte Knutsen, Peabody Graduate Student
