Rebecca Myers, soprano

Rebecca Myers, soprano is a celebrated performing and recording artist who specializes in a comprehensive variety of repertoire including early, contemporary, and chamber music.

A specialist in early and baroque performance practice, Rebecca has had solo engagements with the top early music and period instrument ensembles in the United States including Quiksilver Baroque, Apollo’s Fire, Bourbon Baroque, Tempesta di Mare, Seraphic Fire, and Piffaro the Renaissance Band.  She is a featured soloist on the 2019 Seraphic Fire recording of Hildegard Von Bingen’s little performed Ordo Virtutum, which is expected to be released in 2021.

Equally at home in the contemporary music world, Rebecca has premiered works by the world’s top living composers.  Her work with the two time GRAMMY winning ensemble The Crossing has led to performances with The New York Philharmonic, at the Noon to Midnight Festival in Los Angeles, and at the Coor Biennal festival in Haarlem, Netherlands.  Rebecca appears on over 12 highly acclaimed recordings with The Crossing including the 2017 GRAMMY nominated record of Thomas Lloyd’s Bonhoeffer, on which she was a soloist.  In 2018 Rebecca premiered the role of Parnethope in David Hertzberg’s The Wake World, as part of the inaugural O17 festival with Opera Philadelphia.  Rebecca is a founder and member of the cutting edge vocal sextet, Variant 6, who specialize in early and contemporary vocal chamber music. 

Also an accomplished chamber musician, Rebecca has performed in solo recitals with some of the finest pianists and ensembles in the country.  In 2020 Rebecca performed a recital with acclaimed pianist Laura Ward, which was meant to be performed in Paris at the European American Musical Alliance festival, but was live-streamed from Philadelphia due to to Covid-19.  At home in Philadelphia she is a regular collaborator with composer and pianist Benjamin C.S. Boyle, Lyric Fest, Filament Baroque, and Prometheus Chamber Orchestra.
